Chicago Stay at Home Order Frequently Asked Questions

Effective March 21st, 2020 at 5PM, Chicago Mayor Lightfoot and Illinois Governer Pritzker issued a “stay at home” order to all residents. This order will remain in place until April 7th.

There is a page up on the City of Chicago website answering some common questions and concerns about the Stay at home order, including what residents should do, how long should people stay at home, and how the police know if someone is allowed to travel.

There is also an explanation of what residents can and cannot do while the “stay at home” order is in place.
